The APWA Board & Monthly Luncheon Meeting occurs each month on the first Friday of each month. The Board Meetings start at 9:30 am. Luncheon Meetings are from 12pm to 1:30pm. Meeting cost will be $25 per person at the door. Each attendee will get one ticket that will be good for bottles of wine AND one ticket that will be good for the Scholarship Program Door Prize.
No lunch meeting in July and August. |

The Sacramento Chapter of APWA is encouraging local agencies to seek recognition for their outstanding public works projects by submitting an application for nomination of a Project of the Year Award. The nominations will be due on or before August 8, 2008.
Awards will be given out at the regular Chapter luncheon meeting in September. |

The American Public Works Association (APWA) - Shasta Cascade Branch is sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship for junior college or four-year college/university students who are in a public works curriculum and who intend to be enrolled in a four-year college/university in the fall of 2008.
Applications will be distributed via email and are posted online at http://www.apwa-sac.org under the heading "Events".
The submittal package consisting of an Application, a Personal Statement (500 words maximum), and current transcripts (or other acceptable record of college grades) should be completed and must be submitted electronically via email. The submittal package shall have a date stamp no later than July 3, 2008. |

The APWA Sacramento Chapter seeks to inspire excellence and dedication in the public sector by recognizing the outstanding career service achievements of public works professionals. The focus of the following Award categories is the recognition of exceptional local leadership and management in the fields of Facilities and Grounds; Public Fleet; Public Right-of-Way; Emergency Management; Solid Waste; Transportation; and Water Resources.
One Winner will be selected from each category
and one nomination will be selected for our Local Chapter's 3rd Annual Public Works Leader of the Year Award!
The winner will be announced at the 2006 NPWW dinner on May 18. |
